This petite IB iris has an unusual, bi-color ruffled blossom, only one of two from the group of twelve seedlings, which tended strongly towards being neglectas. The small bloom has pastel mauve standards with a rosy flush at the midrib and soft gold bases over rich mulberry violet falls. The striated hafts have brownish lines over a pastel mauve ground surrounding the bushy bright gold beard.

The maiden bloom opened on April 30, 2025  and was a bit distorted by the cold weather we were having at the time.  (Our last freeze date is mid-May.) I forgot to note how many buds or branches the bloomstalk had. But the clump produced 6 budstalks (2 were blanks from cold damage) and 9 increases…displaying vigor in its second year of growth.

NOTE: We are selling small ‘duos’ – two offsets on a central petite rhizome. Because of the iris’ vigor, it should grow fairly quickly for you despite its petite size.

This iris, a cross of MTB ’Say Red’ x TB ‘Hysteria,’ will NOT be registered and named.
