This IB iris has a 5” ruffled soft yellow, bitone bloom with olive tones, a blue-white belly stripe, and an orange beard. It has a pattern of white lines over the hafts, and may display some random broken color white dots and streaks. The two bloomstalks had 3 buds, 1 branch & a spur with 4 increases, so should make a nice clump fairly quickly.

This early blooming seedling would do best in a climate where the spring temperatures warm up consistently. Here in Prescott AZ where our April weather is very challenging, it opened its first, second year bloom on May 5, 2025. In 2024, its first year, the bloom opened on April 22, The plant suffered some cold damage with distorted, crinkly petals. It should do better in a milder spring climate.

NOTE: One of our offerings is the mother rhizome with a good size daughter and two growth ‘nubbins,’ which will grow into bloomstalks in 2-3 years.

This iris, a cross of SDB ‘Leopard Print’ x TB ‘Just A Crush,’ will NOT be registered and named.
